SSE, GSK, set to offer new jobs to oil and gas workers this week in Aberdeen

Oil workersOil and gas workers facing redundancy are being encouraged to attend an upcoming jobs fair taking place in Aberdeen this week

Employers – including GSK, Gas Call Services Ltd and SSE – will be at the event on 16 September with a number of vacancies they hope to fill.

The event will be held in the city’s Beach Ballroom from 10am-3pm and is the third to be organised by the Scottish Government’s initiative for responding to redundancy situations, Partnership Action for Continuing Employment (PACE).

Skills Development Scotland – the organisation that leads the delivery of PACE support in conjunction with a number of key partners including the Department for Work and Pensions – is encouraging workers to attend the event to find out about the jobs on offer and to speak to partners for information on areas such as writing a CV, job searching and financial advice.
