Aberdeen-headquartered Hydro Group plc has won the Manufacturer of the Year, and the overall ‘Made in Scotland’ award, at the Made in Scotland Awards 2016.

The inaugural awards were held at the head office of the Royal Bank of Scotland in Edinburgh, to celebrate Scottish innovation – highlighting the achievements of organisations and individuals across all sectors of Scottish industry.

Subsea cable and connector specialist Hydro Group scooped the two awards thanks to its position at the forefront of the development and innovation of subsea product technologies, and its consistent commitment to successfully supplying Scottish made products to both domestic and international markets.

Doug Whyte, Managing Director, Hydro Group, said: “Being presented with these awards is excellent recognition of the continued growth and successes the company has achieved over the past three decades.

“Having recently announced a £2million investment in expanding our premises to support the continuous diversification and development the business, this really is a very exciting time for the group.

Hydro Group, which currently occupies a 45,500 sq ft facility at the Aberdeen Energy Park, has expanded its premises by investing in a new 13,700 sq ft bespoke facility, set to open this summer.
