Sunderland-based Green Marine Solutions (GMS) today opens its new office at the Scottish Enterprise Inovo building in Glasgow, to harness the benefits of the offshore wind industry.
Its new Scottish office will allow GMS to be in the place where many renewable energy companies have already set up their premises. To start with, four staff will be based at GMS Glasgow, but the company is looking towards possible expansion in future.
Justin Moseley, Managing Director of GMS – a former Merchant Navy Master Mariner which specialist knowledge of subsea construction and operations – said: “Our market is in the UK – that is what we know at the moment.
“But we are always looking out to what is happening in Europe and also in global markets. Our ability to track people and equipment is absolutely vital to safe and secure operations.
In May, GMS launched the ROAM software (Real-time Offshore Asset Management), a fully integrated tracking and monitoring system which can be used to manage every aspect of an offshore operation. It has already been installed at Siemens’ Teesside Project in Hartlepool to manage personnel. The system can also be used to control vessels and equipment.
In 2009 Moseley played a key role in planning, executing and managing the marine operations and coordination of the Greater Gabbard Wind Farm. As the project’s first Marine Coordinator he developed many of the operations and procedures, building the Marine Coordination centre from the ground up. Justin was able to use this experience and the lessons learned to help establish Green Marine Solutions – ensuring high quality at all times.
Since then Justin has further enhanced his extensive management skills with an MBA from Strathclyde University, which he gained with Distinction.
He added: “Green Marine Solutions provides professional marine services and specialist support to the offshore renewables industry. At GMS we can help with every aspect of offshore construction, management and development.
“From our headquarters in the North East, and with two additional bases throughout the UK in Glasgow and Cornwall, we are the only company in the UK capable of delivering a wide range of bespoke marine solutions simultaneously.
“Our offshore wind services include: Marine Coordination, Marine & Port Operations, Vessel Management & Inspection, Training & Rescue Solutions and Real Time Offshore Asset Management (ROAM).”
