SHE’s licence encompasses areas with significant potential for the development of renewable generation. It has received connection applications for large numbers of generation projects. The company is currently engaged in a major programme of system reinforcements on both its mainland and island networks.
Potential bidders for the three year contract must demonstrate competence across the range of HVDC technologies (in particular VSC) and the development of multi-terminal schemes.
The services required by SHET include small-signal stability, sub-synchronous interaction, dynamic performance and power quality studies; development of real-time simulation models; review of manufacturer’s study reports; and the witnessing of tests both during manufacturing and commissioning.
Deadline for bids is by 27 March 2015.
