TRIG to acquire 35MW subsidy-free wind farm on Kintyre Peninsula

The Renewables Infrastructure Group (TRIG) announced on Tuesday 21 January that it has acquired the rights to a 35MW wind farm on the Kintyre Peninsula, Scotland.

Project developer Renewable Energy Systems will also construct the wind farm. Construction is expected to start in Q1 2020 and operations are expected to commence in Q1 2022.

TRIG said the project’s revenues will be accrued from selling power into the wholesale market without subsidy. The company also claimed the project will create more than £3.9mn of inward investment for the local economy during the wind farm’s construction and first year of operation.
