Vattenfall opens community benefit scheme for local area near EOWDC wind farm

Vattenfall has opened a community benefit scheme near its European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC), located in Aberdeen Bay, to applications.

The scheme will invest £150,000 annually into local community projects for the duration of the EOWDC’s 20-year lifetime. Projects will be invested in that fit the following four criteria: contribute to a “climate smarter” world with sustainability at its core; invest in community facilities and activities that are fit for the future and are environmentally sustainable; encourage projects which are innovative in their delivery; and ensure a legacy and lasting impact which clearly brings benefit to the local community.

Applications will be accepted from 14 January to 15 April.
