Where Scottish Energy News leads on North Sea oil jobs bonanza, the SNP follows…
To the timely benefit – and manifest interest – of our readers, Scottish Energy News was very pleased to report yesterday on the results of the latest oil and gas industry survey by Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce, which revealed that virtually every one of its 200 sector member companies – 98% – are actively looking to recruit new staff as the North Sea undergoes a record £13.5 billion investment this year.
So welcome was this news, that the Scottish National Party (SNP) followed up our story – three hours later – and issued its own party political publicity statement, which we reproduce in part, below.
But the message is clear – if you want to keep up to date with what’s happening in the Scottish energy sector, keep in touch with Scottish Energy News – and tell your friends, colleagues, peers and counterparts!
The SNP has welcomed the latest Oil and Gas Survey which forecasts a jobs bonanza as 98 per cent of North Sea oil and gas companies and contractors report that they are looking to recruit staff.
Chief Executive of the Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce Robert Collier said: “Our latest survey – the 19th – continues to see rising confidence across the sector with companies working at or above optimum levels, helped in part, by rises in decommissioning activity.
“This report sees a record number of contractors (98%) looking to recruit staff in the current period and in particular demand for permanent staff grows ever stronger.”
Commenting, SNP MSP for Aberdeen…….
