Aberdeen Harbour has appointed John McGuigan to the newly-created role of operations manager as the Board finalises plans ahead of making a final decision to go ahead with the port extension in October.
McGuigan started his career with British Steel and has since worked for Clydeport, Peel Ports and was previously E.ON UK terminal manager in Liverpool, handling fuel logistics for a number of power stations.
He said: “This is such an exciting time for Aberdeen Harbour with the possibility of the Harbour expansion project and the positive impact that this could have in the region.”
Meanwhile, AISUS Offshore has strengthened its team in Aberdeen as it continues to grow its N. Sea market and gears up for significant overseas expansion.
The company, which provides remotely-deployed visual and ultrasonic inspection tools to the oil and gas industry is looking to double turnover over the next three years through expansion both at home and abroad.
It has now appointed Andrew Mitchell as business development manager from a similar post at EPTM Ltd.
