Edward Davey MP, Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, is today (9 April) making a keynote speech on energy and its importance in the context of Scotland’s constitutional future

Davey is due to speak at a Scotland Office event in Edinburgh, where he is expected to comment on the recent statement about the prospects for rising household energy bills in the UK from the looming ‘energy crunch’ – where electricity demand exceeds supply – from Scottish Energy Minister Fergus Ewing (as reported in the Scottish Energy News – 7 April 2014).

The UK energy minister is also expected to refer renewable energy investments in Scotland, many of which are dependent on UK government subsidy.
