A former Scottish Power finance director and former chief executive of Weir Group has joined the board of an onshore oil and gas exploration company
While Keith Cochrane takes up his new role as non-executive chairman of Third Energy, the company has also hired Lord Jitesh Gadhia as a non-executive director.
Gadhia previously held senior posts in Barclays Capital and ABN AMRO and is director of the company which owns the CompareTheMarket website.
Rasik Valand, Chief Executive, Third Energy, said: “Having held senior positions at Scottish Power and the Weir Group plc, Keith has a wealth of experience in energy, business management and finance that will be incredibly beneficial to Third Energy particularly advising on the development of our business.”
Cochrane added: “I am delighted to be joining Third Energy at this exciting time. Having seen at first hand the development of the unconventional oil and gas industry across North America, I believe the case for accessing our own unconventional gas resources in the UK, is compelling. I look forward to working with the Third Energy team to make this prospect real.”
