Specialist biomass heat company hwenergy has appointed Paul Cairns as Senior Commercial Projects and Account Manager, based in the company’s Bellshill office.

Formerly Commercial Sales Manager at VGEnergy and National Channel Manager at British Gas, Cairns brings with him a strong track record in the energy sector and has a particular interest in biomass.

He said “The fact that hwenergy has been specialising in biomass for such a long time and has such in depth knowledge really appealed to me as a good base to work from. As more commercial organisations realise the benefits of biomass I’m looking forward to expanding the client base even further.”

hwenergy specialises in the design, installation and servicing of commercial biomass heating systems. Clients include the Co-Operative, BSkyB, Scottish Water, Glenmore Lodge, and Auchrannie Resort as well as many local authorities, NHS Trusts and housing associations. Earlier this year, the company won ‘Best Renewable Project of the Year’ in the 2014 Heating and Ventilation News Awards for their work with NHS Ayrshire and Arran.

hwenergy has a team of 40+ people and has been specialising in biomass heating for over 11 years. Projects range from the design, installation and commissioning of small district heating schemes to large hospitals with over 250 successful projects completed to date. The company services and maintains over 300 sites across Scotland.

A wholly owned Scottish company, hwenergy provides services throughout Scotland and the rest of the UK. The company has its headquarters in Fort William, with offices in Bellshill, Glasgow and in the north of England.
