Muirhall Energy donates £20,000 to local communities as West Lothian wind farm construction work starts

Muirhall EnergyMuirhall Energy has donated £10,000 apiece to Fauldhouse Community Development Trust and West Lothian Development Trust as it starts work on its Tormywheel wind farm development near Fauldhouse in West Lothian.

Muirhall will provide a total community benefit fund of £150,000 per year, index linked, for the lifetime of the project.

So far, £100,000 worth of funds have been allocated and split between the West Lothian Development Trust; Fauldhouse Community Development Trust; The Levenseat Trust and the Wooldfords, Auchengray, Tarbrax Improvement Foundation (WAT IF?).

A further £50,000 per annum is to be allocated following community feedback.

Mike Molleson, Project Manager for Tormywheel said: “We are very pleased to be able to demonstrate our commitment to the local area through these goodwill payments.

“Although the wind farm won’t be operational until 2017, we wholly recognise that the most significant impact on the local communities will be now as construction of the wind farm takes place.”
