Two Scottish colleges have been awarded energy-sector training contracts worth £76,000 by Skills Development Scotland.
A total of just three bids were received for these contracts – which were won by Inverness College UHI and Dundee & Angus College
The program is designed to accelerate delivery and increase availability of transition training courses for the energy sector, and to support short courses for mature workers and recent graduates who wish to enter and gain employment in the sector.
The program is initially split into the following parts: oil and gas; grid transmissions, re-distribution/smart grid; renewables, onshore/offshore wind, marine wave and tidal, and micro-generation.
