Scottish Energy Minister to open 2014 Power of Scotland Conference (Glasgow, March 25)

Industrial and Power AssociationThe seventh annual IPA Power Scotland Conference is being held on Tuesday, March 25  at the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), Teacher Building, 14 St Enoch Square, Glasgow, G1 4DB from 9:00am until 5:00pm.

Colin McNaught of Ricardo-AEA and Chair, Industrial and Power Association, will introduce Scottish Energy Minister Fergus Ewing, keynote speaker Graeme Sweeney from the Expert Commission on Energy Regulation, and John Twomey of National Grid, key sponsor.

William Lindsay, Project Manager at Peterhead for Shell will update delegates on carbon capture and storage, while Stephen Young of Clyde Bergemann will speak about The Efficient Operation of UK thermal assets.

Dan Wright of Heliex will talk about Steam Screw Expanders and Duncan Thomas of SLR Consulting will present news on Anaerobic Digestion Facilities.

Previously confirmed, Ian Phillips of Pale Blue Dot will talk about the Captain Clean Energy Project at Grangemouth, Dr Guy Doyle of Mott Macdonald will talk about The Case for Investment in Generation: Scenarios to 2025 and Brian Galloway of ScottishPower will present The changing shape of the power generation market.

 David Few of Atkins will present an Overview and update on the UK DECC CCS Commercialisation Programme. Steven Stocks and John Bingham of ETP will talk about their work on Energy Storage – A vital network component in the delivery of a low carbon UK.
