This month is the first anniversary since the launch of Scottish Energy News in September 2013. And what a year it’s been.
Since then, readership (actively-subscribed and individually-designated email addresses) has risen week by week – every week – and now stands at more than 3,500 a day. And it’s still growing…
So we’re marking the ‘new year’ with a new look for Scottish Energy News as readership has doubled in our first 12 months to make it easier to navigate and easier to view ‘at a glance’.
We have listened to your suggestions – and hope you like it. But please keep your suggestions coming – as Scottish Energy News is YOUR news.
And over the past two months (July-Aug 2014) – a traditional ‘holiday period’ – Scottish Energy News has attracted an average of more than 8,000 unique visitors to the website.
Readers include scores of MSPs in the Scottish Parliament, in Westminster, in Brussels, in Ireland and the Isle of Man and – increasingly – in Europe, where Scotland is increasingly front of mind of renewable developers and policy-makers because of the huge share of natural wind and wave resources in – and around the coasts of – Scotland.
Indeed, Scotland has a big role to play in the EU energy sector because it is ‘home’ to:
25% of Europe’s offshore wind resource
25% of Europe’s tidal power resource
10% of Europe’s wave resource
This is why Scotland will feature prominently at the Ocean Energy Europe 2014 conference. Being held in Paris, 1-2 October, this is the most important annual conference of the European ocean energy industry.
For more details about the event, please visit: www.oceanenergyconference.eu
Key supply chain companies from all over the Europe will also showcase and market their innovative solutions in the Ocean Energy Europe 2014 exhibition area. The exhibition area is nearly sold out – with only a few stands remaining.
Scottish Energy News is UK Media Partner to this European event and will be attending the Ocean Energy Europe conference.
