The Scottish Government has committed all public sector bodies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to zero and publish annual updates on their progress as part of an initiative to tackle climate change.
A 12-week consultation was opened on 11 September which will assess:
- the role of the public sector in Scotland’s contribution to climate change
- how the Public Sector Climate Change Reporting Duties should be revised to support that, and
- how the Scottish government can work with the public sector to ensure this.
