Scotvalves has secured a new three year repair and maintenance contract – worth an estimated £2.5 million – with Plexus Ocean Systems, based in Dyce, Aberdeen.
The three year contract will see Scotvalves provide welding and machining services for Plexus wellhead systems and other associated equipment.
Plexus, the main operating subsidiary company for the sale and rental of surface applications and exploration and production wellhead equipment, has entered into an agreement to ensure a fast repair and maintenance turnaround service on their equipment to meet growing demand from new and existing clients.
Chris Chambers, Director of Oilfield Services at Scotvalves said: “Plexus approached us with a requirement for a quick and quality turnaround of maintenance and repair services for its surface wellhead equipment that is rented into the market place.
“We offered an innovative and well planned solution, on an initial six month agreement, that has worked well and consequently rolled over to a full three year agreement.”
Scotvalves – part of the Petrofac Group – provides refurbishment and recertification services to oil and gas pressure control and process equipment for both on and offshore at its state of the art facility in Kintore, Aberdeenshire.
The purpose-built 4.4.acre site officially opened its doors in January this year and is designed to accommodate the largest equipment in the surface and subsea industry and offers improved repair and testing capacity.
Steve Bullock, Senior Vice President, HSSEIA, Petrofac Offshore Projects & Operations, said: “The investment in our new facilities and extension of our workshop capabilities has significantly broadened what we can offer our customers.”
