Ofgem stated on 12 September that it will publish its decision on the Final Needs Cases for the Shetland and Western Isles electricity transmission projects in Autumn 2019.
In its minded-to position on the Final Needs Case for the Scottish Hydro Electricity Transmission (SHE-T), Ofgem stated that in order for SHE-T to gain approval it must demonstrate by the end of 2019 that Viking Energy Wind Farm has been awarded a Contract for Difference (CfD) in the 2019 CfD auction.
In light of the recently confirmed timetable for the CfD allocation round 3 (AR3), Ofgem has announced that its final decision will follow the results of the CfD AR3.
The regulator also confirmed that if the timeline for CfD AR3 is delayed then this may impact the publication date of its final decision.
