Scottish Hydro Electric (SHE) Transmission has published a report setting out its priorities for Scotland’s electricity transmission network.
The report, titled Emerging Thinking and published on 25 February, detailed what customers, local communities and stakeholders require from the network during the RIIO-T2 price control period. SHE Transmission found that the importance of Scotland enabling a sustainable GB energy sector was valued highly, as was maintaining a safe and reliable electricity network with a target of zero demand faults and recognising the importance of cybersecurity.
It also recognised the importance of connections to the transmission network – which could value up to £500mn per year – progressing efficiently, with trials to help enable new technologies such as decentralised grids and large-scale storage.
