The Scottish Energy Association – which represents some of the industry’s leading players – has kicked-off the New Year on a positive note by announcing that one of the UK’s top law firms has signed up as a new corporate member.

Shepherd & Wedderburn – which practices from key bases in London, Edinburgh and Glasgow – has  been at the forefront of the energy sector for over 30 years.

It has experienced the transition from fossil fuel to renewable technologies, advising leading organisations within the sector on various innovative processes.

Its 90-strong Energy and Natural Resources team includes specialist lawyers from various disciplines, with expertise in advising clients on matters surrounding conventional power, renewables, oil and gas (both upstream and downstream), water, waste and mining,

Shepherd and Wedderburn ensure the efficiency of their service by becoming an integral part of their clients’ team, combining knowledge and expertise, and identifying any issues from all perspectives.

The Scottish Energy Association is dedicated to ensuring the best possible opportunities for businesses operating within the energy sector.

Hector Grant, Chief Executive, said: “The Scottish Energy Association provides an informed voice across the industry, working closely and advising leading players on all relevant energy matters.

“In being as transparent as possible, we ensure that the consumer is fully informed, in terms of industry trends and insights.”

Meanwhile, the Scottish Energy Association starts its 2016 Knowledge Exchange meetings on 28 January with presentations from Andy Scott (Turner & Townsend) on Energy Efficiency illustrating the work being done with Edinburgh City Council.
