It was reported on 10 September that Warrington Borough Council is set to pay £18mn for a 50% stake in the domestic, Clydebank-based supplier Together Energy.
The Labour-run authority is also expected to grant a £4mn loan to the suppliers.
The deal was approved by the cabinet on 9 September, subject to a ‘risk workshop’ on September 16. A final decision will not be made until after the workshop.
